Facilities
We have taken over a purpose-built hospital in Wimpole in the beautiful South Cambridgeshire countryside, close to the National Trust’s Wimpole Estate.
Our hospital
Built originally as a human hospital specialising in aesthetic, plastic and bariatric surgery, we have converted the hospital into a veterinary clinic and have two spacious operating theatres, a CT and DR imaging suite in addition to comfortable accommodation for cats and dogs, separate dog and cat waiting areas, reception, offices and a seminar room. The impressive Orwell Grange, behind the hospital and in which grounds the hospital sits, has an interesting history.
Waiting Rooms
Two waiting rooms await your arrival. Downstairs, the waiting area is set up for dogs and clients. The television is on and our dog-friendly seating helps to provide a comfy waiting environment for dogs and owners.
Upstairs is our cat waiting area. It is quiet and there are comfy sofas for clients and raised areas for cats and the television provides a home-like environment.
Wifi is available for clients and there are restroom facilities both upstairs and downstairs.
Consulting Rooms
There are two spacious consult rooms downstairs where we consult clients and examine dogs. Upstairs, there is a single consultation room specifically assigned for cats.
Orthopaedic Theatres
We perform orthopaedic surgeries in two operating rooms set up for the demands of human surgery and further purpose modified for veterinary orthopaedics. The theatres are equipped with surgical equipment enabling the variety of orthopaedic surgery that ranges from fracture repair to total hip replacement, as well as equipment required for minimally invasive ‘keyhole’ surgery (arthroscopy).
Diagnostic Imaging
Our diagnostic imaging suite has both a CT that uses high definition volumetric imaging (HDVI) technology, producing high-resolution, detailed images with minimal radiation exposure and a digital traditional X-ray. We also use digital x-ray in theatre, giving intraoperative imaging to assist with accurate implant placement.
Onsite Laboratory
We have in house clinical pathology machines to perform urgent lab testing for pets in the clinic.
Kennels
Dogs stay in comfortable kennels in the ward area downstairs whilst cats have their own quiet and private ward area upstairs. The accommodation is designed to make your pet’s stay with us as comfortable and as free from stress as possible.
Additional facilities include:
- Client and staff car park
- Fully accessible building
- Outdoor space and grassy areas for walking/toileting dogs
- Nearby is the impressive Wimpole Estate National Trust property, with its two cafés and wonderful scenery and grounds.
