Our Nurses

Dawn – RVN

Dawn has been working with us since September 2018 and became the head nurse in January 2020. She qualified in 2013 and has spent 5 years as a rotation nurse at a multi-disciplinary veterinary referral centre in Hertfordshire before joining our team. Dawn has a keen interest in inpatient care, anaesthesia, and feline nursing.

Dawn has a tiny one-eyed Chihuahua called Daisy, a rescue from a previous job. Prior to veterinary nursing, Dawn worked in a cattery and as a dance teacher.

Danni – RVN

Danni is one of our part time registered veterinary nurses and has been working with us since June 2018.

Danni qualified in 2008 and initially worked at a small animal 1st opinion veterinary practice but has spent most of her career (9 years!) as a rotation nurse at a multidisciplinary referral centre, enjoying theatre and ward-based nursing.

Danni has 3 children, a huge German Shepherd dog called Archie, a ginger cat called Simba and a tortoise called Tommy, who likes to wander off on his own adventures!

Katie – RVN

Katie has spent just over 5 years working as a nurse & qualified in 2018. She joined East of England Veterinary specialists in January 2019 ready to take on a new challenge in referral nursing. She has always had a keen interest in anaesthesia. 

Katie has one daughter & a big black Labrador, Bear both of who go on many family outdoor adventures and have a big part to play on the family farm. 

Lisa 

Lisa has joined our team as an animal nursing assistant, having just returned from 3 months of travelling, the lucky thing!

Lisa previously worked as a kennel assistant and theatre technician at a multi-disciplinary referral hospital for 7 years. Prior to this she also worked in a boarding kennels/cattery and for a dog walking company.

She has a keen interest in theatre practice and surgical instrument care and re-homed her cat ‘Midnight’ from her previous job 5 years ago.

Maddie – RVN

Maddie is a Senior Nurse and is our Deputy Head Nurse.

Maddie qualified in 2016, working in a general practice since 2013, she has always had a keen interest in anaesthesia. Maddie joined East of England Veterinary Specialists in December 2019 to challenge herself to learn more about anaesthesia and surgical nursing.

Maddie has a large mixed breed dog called Huey and three cats who rule the roost.

Fiona – RVN

Fiona qualified in 2014 and has spent a mixture of time in a busy general practice and referral clinic, most recently working in a busy ICU. She has also worked in Australia for a year where she got to treat some amazing wildlife.

Fiona joined the team in Feb 2020 to challenge herself and learn more about anaesthesia and analgesia. She also has a keen interest in feline nursing and inpatient care. 

Fiona has a rescue cat called Zazu who likes to sleep and have lots of cuddles.
