Dawn - RVN (Head Nurse)

Dawn – RVN (Head Nurse)

Dawn has been working with us since September 2018 and became the head nurse in January 2020. She qualified in 2013 and has spent 5 years as a rotation nurse at a multi-disciplinary veterinary referral centre in Hertfordshire before joining our team. Dawn has a keen interest in inpatient care, anaesthesia, and feline nursing.

Dawn has a tiny one-eyed Chihuahua called Daisy, a rescue from a previous job. Prior to veterinary nursing, Dawn worked in a cattery and as a dance teacher.

Maddie - RVN (Senior Nurse)

Maddie – RVN (Senior Nurse)

Maddie is a Senior Nurse and is our Deputy Head Nurse.

Maddie qualified in 2016, working in a general practice since 2013, she has always had a keen interest in anaesthesia. Maddie joined East of England Veterinary Specialists in December 2019 to challenge herself to learn more about anaesthesia and surgical nursing.

Maddie has a large mixed breed dog called Huey and three cats who rule the roost.

Katie – RVN

Katie has been working as a nurse for 12 years and has been qualified since 2018. She joined East of England Veterinary Specialists in January 2019 and has since had a keen interest in anaesthesia. 

Katie has two daughters, a Labrador called Bear and a cat called Biscuit. They enjoy holidays in their caravan and time on the family farm.

Fiona – RVN

Fiona qualified in 2014 and has spent a mixture of time in a busy general practice and referral clinic, most recently working in a busy ICU. She has also worked in Australia for a year where she got to treat some amazing wildlife.

Fiona joined the team in Feb 2020 to challenge herself and learn more about anaesthesia and analgesia. She also has a keen interest in feline nursing and inpatient care. 

Fiona has a rescue cat called Zazu who likes to sleep and have lots of cuddles.

Victoria – RVN

Vicky has been a nurse since 2017 and qualified in 2019. Since then, she has worked in general practice, hospitals and now with us. Before coming here, she was an emergency and critical care night nurse at a busy hospital in north London.

Vicky’s favourite part of the job is giving gold-standard inpatient care, ensuring all your pets that stay the night get everything they need and more (including endless cuddles).

She calls herself both a dog and cat person, however, only has a dog at home. Her lovely French bulldog is called Pablo. He makes sure to get all the cuddles when she isn’t giving them to the patients here.

Zoë – RVN

BSc (Hons) VNPA NCert SAN

Zoë graduated from the University of Bristol in 2005 with a degree in Veterinary Nursing and Practice Administration. After graduating Zoë has worked in several multidiscipline referral hospitals gaining experience in theatre nursing and anaesthesia.  In 2017, Zoë decided to change her career path, moving into the veterinary industry. She began working as a Veterinary Nutrition Partner for a large nutrition company and completed her Certificate in Small Animal Nutrition in November 2020.  

Zoë joined the East of England Veterinary Specialists team in September 2023. She has a keen interest in total hip replacement surgeries and nutrition, particularly with supporting owners with weight loss management.

Katie - RVN

Katie – RVN

Katie qualified in 2015 and has worked in both general practice and referral hospitals. She worked at a general practice from 2013 to 2016 and then joined a large referral hospital in Newmarket. Katie worked as an Internal Medicine Nurse for 3 years before internally transferring to the oncology department for a further 3 years. 

Katie then went to work for a mixed general practice where she was able to assist and anaesthetised a variety of animals from rats to sheep, goats and cows. Katie joined the team in October 2023 and is interested in enhancing her anaesthesia and analgesia skills.

Katie has three pets: a cocker spaniel called Ollie (or as known in her house, ‘the little prince’) a naughty Irish sports horse called Moo and a rescue chinchilla called Churro.

Dan – Nursing Assistant

Dan joined our team as a full-time nursing assistant in March 2021. He had previously worked in a similar role in two multi-disciplinary referral centres.

Dan runs the management of all our instruments and our implants, alongside Kate. He particularly enjoys assisting the nurses with patient care in kennels.

Kate came to the UK after finishing university 10 years ago when she received her Master of Arts Degree to completely change her career.

Previously, she worked as a theatre technician in a multidisciplinary referral hospital for three years.

Kate has two dogs – a Corgi Pembroke and Czech Wolfdog, who she loves taking for long walks.
In her spare time, she likes to paint and does all kinds of crafts.

Izzy - Patient Care Assistant

Izzy – Patient Care Assistant

Izzy has been a veterinary care assistant for 6 years, first in general practice and then progressing to a busy referral hospital working nights. Izzy joined East of England in 2024 and is enjoying every minute of it, she particularly enjoys the inpatient care, prepping animals for theatre and sterilizing the instruments. 

Izzy is very passionate about her job and treats every animal as if they were her own. Her favourite part of the job is giving patients one-on-one time and extra attention, making the vets a less scary place for them. At home, Izzy has a black Labrador of her own and a Yorkshire terrier which she likes taking for long walks.

Olivia - Patient Care Assistant

Olivia – Patient Care Assistant

Olivia previously qualified as a health professional, however decided to change paths to incorporate her love of animals two years ago. She is passionate about her job and working with all kinds of animals.

Jennie – Office Manager

Jennie joined us in November 2020 as office manager. Jennie has over 20 years experience of first and second opinion vets.

She has a keen interest in chickens and rabbits.

Danielle – Admin Team

Danielle joined EoE in June 2022 and has worked with animals all her life. She has a keen interest in greyhounds and horses.

In her spare time, she teaches horse riding and helps at a greyhound racing kennels.

Michelle – Admin Team

Michelle joined EoE in July 2022.

She has two grown-up children, two dogs, Dorothy, and Reggie, and three cats – Moneypenny, Mac and Peanut. 

In her spare time, she likes to travel, walk the dogs and eat out.
