Our Staff

George – Intern Veterinary Surgeon

George graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in July 2018 and, following an internship at the University of Glasgow Veterinary Hospital, chose to swap the bright city lights for the fields of Suffolk.

He can often be seen bringing joy to our staff with his luminescent trousers! He has an interest in all things surgical, with a particular interest in orthopaedics.

Outside of work he enjoys baking and has adopted the role of chief baker for his colleagues’ birthdays!

Graziana –  Intern Veterinary Surgeon

Graziana qualified in Italy in 2015 and decided to move to the UK in 2016 to pursue her dream of becoming a veterinary surgeon. She has a particular interest in surgery and her biggest dream is to open her own practice in Italy. 

She has a very jumpy and happy dog called Flash and two cats called Lorenzo and Grumbly that she rescued from her previous job.

Dawn – RVN (Head Nurse)

Dawn has been working with us since September 2018 and became the head nurse in January 2020. She qualified in 2013 and has spent 5 years as a rotation nurse at a multi-disciplinary veterinary referral centre in Hertfordshire before joining our team. Dawn has a keen interest in inpatient care, anaesthesia, and feline nursing.

Dawn has a tiny one-eyed Chihuahua called Daisy, a rescue from a previous job. Prior to veterinary nursing, Dawn worked in a cattery and as a dance teacher.

Maddie – RVN (Senior Nurse)

Maddie is a Senior Nurse and is our Deputy Head Nurse.

Maddie qualified in 2016, working in a general practice since 2013, she has always had a keen interest in anaesthesia. Maddie joined East of England Veterinary Specialists in December 2019 to challenge herself to learn more about anaesthesia and surgical nursing.

Maddie has a large mixed breed dog called Huey and three cats who rule the roost.

Michelle – RVN

Michelle worked at a multi-disciplinary veterinary referral centre in Newmarket where she started as an ANA (Animal Nursing Assistant) before proceeding to do her nurse training, qualifying in 2008. While there she was a rotating ward nurse, surgery day nurse and then night duty nurse. During this time, she did various courses and especially loves wound care. Prior to this, she worked as a ‘human’ nurse for several years in Cambridge. She much prefers working with animals.

Michelle joined EoE in 2020 as one of the night nurses. She splits her time between days and nights and while on the day shift, she has gained a lot of knowledge and experience in the running of them. 

In her spare time, she likes to do martial arts, obstacle mud racing and dog grooming which she works from home.

She has four dogs – Hilda and Frankie the English Bulldogs, Jeffrey the Jackapoo and Milo the Jack Russell who certainly keep her entertained.

Megan – RVN

Megan qualified in 2018 from Royal Veterinary College and stayed for a further year to complete her Bachelor of Science degree, focussing on surgical nursing.

She spent 5 years in a busy first opinion hospital where her love for orthopaedics and anaesthesia stemmed from before moving to EoE.

Megan joined the team in 2020 and loves her job. She rescued her dog, Margot, in 2021. She’s her little shadow who loves to do everything with her.

Suzi – RVN

Suzi qualified in 2015 and has spent time working in a busy general practice, helping at animal charities and as a rotation nurse at a multidisciplinary veterinary referral centre. She also volunteered in South Africa, where she worked with some amazing animals.

She joined the team in July 2020 because she is passionate about surgery, particularly orthopaedics and wanted to increase her experience in anaesthesia/analgesia.

Suzi has a spoiled Dachshund called Otto, whom she rescued from a previous workplace.

Phoebe – RVN

Phoebe qualified as an RVN in July 2020 from Nottingham Trent University and stayed on for a further year to complete her Bachelor of Science Degree, focusing on analgesia and anaesthesia. Phoebe has spent the last four years in a busy first opinion hospital and also recently volunteered at an animal charity in the Caribbean in January 2022, working with an amazing team and animals.

Phoebe joined the team here at EoE in February. She is passionate about anaesthesia and is keen to develop new skills and knowledge in orthopaedic nursing.

Outside of work, Phoebe has a crazy Vizsla called Vincent whom she rehomed in 2021.

Katie – RVN

Katie has spent just over 5 years working as a nurse & qualified in 2018. She joined East of England Veterinary specialists in January 2019 ready to take on a new challenge in referral nursing. She has always had a keen interest in anaesthesia. 

Katie has one daughter & a big black Labrador, Bear both of who go on many family outdoor adventures and have a big part to play on the family farm. 

Fiona – RVN

Fiona qualified in 2014 and has spent a mixture of time in a busy general practice and referral clinic, most recently working in a busy ICU. She has also worked in Australia for a year where she got to treat some amazing wildlife.

Fiona joined the team in Feb 2020 to challenge herself and learn more about anaesthesia and analgesia. She also has a keen interest in feline nursing and inpatient care. 

Fiona has a rescue cat called Zazu who likes to sleep and have lots of cuddles.

Dan – Nursing Assistant

Dan joined our team as a full-time nursing assistant in March 2021. He had previously worked in a similar role in two multi-disciplinary referral centres.

Dan runs the management of all our instruments and our implants, alongside Kate. He particularly enjoys assisting the nurses with patient care in kennels.

Kate – Nursing Assistant

Kate came to the UK after finishing university 10 years ago when she received her Master of Arts Degree to completely change her career.

Previously, she worked as a theatre technician in a multidisciplinary referral hospital for three years.

Kate has two dogs – a Corgi Pembroke and Czech Wolfdog, who she loves taking for long walks.
In her spare time, she likes to paint and does all kinds of crafts.

Jennie – Office Manager

Jennie joined us in November 2020 as office manager. Jennie has over 20 years experience of first and second opinion vets.

She has a keen interest in chickens and rabbits.

Danielle – Admin Team

Danielle joined EoE in June 2022 and has worked with animals all her life. She has a keen interest in greyhounds and horses.

In her spare time, she teaches horse riding and helps at a greyhound racing kennels.

Michelle – Admin Team

Michelle joined EoE in July 2022.

She has two grown-up children, two dogs, Dorothy, and Reggie, and three cats – Moneypenny, Mac and Peanut. 

In her spare time, she likes to travel, walk the dogs and eat out.
